We’ll start our tour by meeting at your hotel and embarking on a journey through the natural beauty of the Zeta Valley. The first part of the route is a scenic road winding high above Skadar Lake. Along the way, we’ll stop at one of Montenegro’s most famous viewpoints – Pavlova Strana. It’s from here that the iconic view of the winding Rijeka Crnojevića river, shaped like a horseshoe, unfolds. Photos from this spot adorn Montenegro guidebooks and become a vivid memory for everyone who has visited Skadar Lake.

• Skadar Lake: Rijeka Crnojevića Town

Rijeka Crnojevića is a quiet, picturesque town on the banks of the river of the same name, seemingly lost in time. Narrow cobblestone streets, old stone houses, and green hills create a truly cozy atmosphere. This is where our boat trips on Skadar Lake begin: a leisurely and scenic journey among water lilies, birds, and the mirror-like surface of the water. Before or after the boat ride, you can stop at one of the restaurants in the historic center – they serve freshly caught carp, smoked eel, and other local delicacies prepared according to traditional recipes.

Skadar Lake is not just water between mountains; it’s a vibrant living world. We’ll start our trip from Rijeka Crnojevića and journey across the lake, amidst water lilies, herons, cormorants, and green islands. Optionally, we can stop at an ancient monastery, swim in the clear water, or visit the tiny village of Karuč, where the spirit of old Montenegro still lives.

Skadar Lake is a true paradise for nature lovers. It is home to over 280 bird species, including herons, cormorants, grey geese, and many types of ducks. It’s one of the few places in Europe where you can see the Dalmatian pelican in the wild – a rare and majestic bird. Even if you’re not an ornithologist, it’s impossible not to be amazed by how alive and pristine the nature of this place is.

• Skadar Lake: Family Winery in Rijeka Crnojevića

After our boat trip on Skadar Lake, we’ll visit the Bogojević family winery – one of the most respected in the region. Here, winemaking is not just a craft, but a true family history passed down through generations. You’ll receive a warm welcome, genuine conversation with the hosts, and, of course, a vibrant tasting: rich reds, aromatic whites, and unique varieties that cannot be found in stores. These wines are served only in the best restaurants or poured directly here at the winery. You’ll also be treated to their signature black pršut, smoked and aged using an ancient technique carefully preserved by the family. The atmosphere here is warm, soulful, and truly Montenegrin delicious.

• Skadar Lake: Lipa Cave

At the end of our tour, another interesting natural site awaits us – Lipa Cave. This is the largest karst cave in the country, where you’ll descend into a real underground world: with huge halls, stalactites, stalagmites, and bizarre limestone formations created by nature over thousands of years. The walk takes place on equipped, illuminated paths, accompanied by a guide. Inside the cave, a pleasant coolness of about +10°C is maintained year-round, making it also a great opportunity to refresh yourself after a sunny day.
