DAY ONE

  • Grand Tour: Morning on the Coast

The Grand Tour of Montenegro begins early in the morning. At dawn, we embark on a romantic journey! We’ll drive along the coast to enjoy the incomparable views of the morning Adriatic. We’ll make a short stop to capture the majestic island of Sveti Stefan, illuminated by the rays of the rising sun.

  • Grand Tour: Central Montenegro

After crossing the first ridge of the Dinaric Alps, we’ll see Lake Skadar. We can stop on its shore for a small photo shoot. If we’re lucky, we might even spot a Dalmatian pelican, as the chances are highest in the morning. If you wish, you can descend into the wine cellar of one of the local wineries to taste homemade wine.

Soon we’ll arrive in Podgorica. Montenegro has always been famous for its hospitality towards guests from the former USSR. The renowned Soviet poet Vladimir Vysotsky loved to visit here and often warmly recalled every day spent on Montenegrin soil. By order of the Ministry of Culture of Montenegro, a monument to the great poet was erected in the capital, further strengthening the bond between our peoples. We’ll stop by the monument, admire the Millennium Bridge, and take a short walk across the pedestrian bridge towards the old town. In short, the Grand Tour cannot bypass the capital!

Now we enter the Zeta Valley – a true Balkan Tuscany. The Vranac grape, used to make the excellent Pro Corde wine, grows in these vast expanses. We’ll definitely try it!

  • Grand Tour: Niagara Falls

Few know that Montenegro has its own Niagara Falls. Water for irrigating the vineyard is taken from the Cijevna River, on whose bank we’ll stop for lunch. What could be better than lunch by the river? Only lunch with a view of the waterfall!

  • Grand Tour: Moraca Canyon

Through mountain passes, the road will lead us to the Moraca River Canyon. This is where our Grand Tour of Montenegro’s canyons begins. An incredible unity of monolithic rock and celestial heights. Sheer cliffs a kilometer high on both sides of the river resemble the walls of an impregnable fortress! Water and wind have carved intricate patterns on them for millennia. They magically change color depending on the lighting at different times of the day. A convertible ride through the canyon road is unforgettable!

The water flow, turbulent and swift at its source, becomes surprisingly measured towards the end. An unforgettable sight! You can enjoy it standing on the suspension bridge!

  • Grand Tour: Moraca Monastery

The oldest sanctuary in Montenegro. Built in the 13th century, the monastery remains active to this day. Connoisseurs of beauty will be captivated by the ten frescoes dedicated to the prophet Elijah. Take a stroll around the grounds, drink water from the holy spring, listen to the silence, open your heart, and feel the incredible energy of this place.

  • Grand Tour: Biogradsko Lake

Located in the heart of Biogradska Gora National Park. For some unknown reasons, it remains not very popular compared to other Montenegrin attractions. But still, the magic of this place is undeniable. As part of our “Grand Tour of Montenegro” program, we simply cannot miss it!

  • Grand Tour: Tara River Canyon

But even the astonishingly beautiful Moraca Canyon pales in comparison to Europe’s deepest gorge – the Tara River Canyon. Its maximum depth is 1300 meters, and its slopes are covered with forests dominated by black pine. The age of the trees is measured in hundreds of years, with the tallest reaching 50 meters in height. The abundance of viewpoints allows you to fully enjoy the magnificence created by nature itself!

  • Grand Tour: Djurdjevica Bridge

Without exaggeration, this grandiose structure is one of Montenegro’s hallmarks. This unparalleled arch bridge connects the two banks of the Tara River Canyon. We’ll have plenty of time to walk to the opposite side and admire one of the most beautiful panoramas in Montenegro!

  • Grand Tour: Mala Crna Gora

Mala Crna Gora is one of the most amazing places in Durmitor National Park. A dense coniferous forest, located at the foot of a majestic mountain range, offering panoramic views of two canyons at once: Tara and Susica. Mala Crna Gora is not the most famous place on the Russian-speaking internet. At the same time, locals believe there is nothing more beautiful in Durmitor. You can read more about Mala Crna Gora in our Instagram.

First, we’ll drive through a picturesque high-mountain meadow, on the opposite side of which the majestic Savin Kuk mountain rises. A photograph of Savin Kuk from this plain is one of the hallmarks of Durmitor National Park. After passing the plateau, we’ll enter a dark green coniferous forest, after which we’ll find ourselves on the top of the mountain range, where we’ll make a series of panoramic stops: a view of Black Lake, a view of the Tara River Canyon, and a view of the Susica River Canyon.

DAY 2

  • Grand Tour: Black Lake

From midday onwards, the stream of tourists eager to see this beauty is endless. But we’ll have time to enjoy the reserve’s nature before they arrive! In the mornings, there’s no one here. On the lake shore, you can indulge in deep contemplation and meditation. Observe nature sitting on a bench or simply stroll leisurely, listening to the silence. At this time of day, no one will disturb you. First, we’ll have a good breakfast at a lakeside restaurant, after which we’ll go on a walking tour. We’ll walk around and take a boat ride on the lake. Morning at Black Lake is wonderful! The Grand Tour of Montenegro is wonderful!

  • Grand Tour: Quad Biking (optional)

At the beginning of the second day, we can add quad biking. An awesome hour-and-a-half route through the secret spots of Durmitor National Park. A minimal level of preparation is sufficient for the track. Dense coniferous forests, sheer cliffs, mind-blowing panoramic views, cool photos and videos, speed, and thrill. The cost is 90 euros per quad. Two people can ride on one.

  • Grand Tour: Savin Kuk Peak

Above Black Lake majestically rises Savin Kuk – one of the highest peaks in Montenegro. That’s where we’re headed! We’ll ascend to an altitude of 2.3 km above sea level on a ski lift! Pure air, soft sun almost within reach, clouds as white as mountain snow all around, and incomparable mountain landscapes! But most importantly, from here, a fantastic panoramic view of Black Lake opens up. A unique opportunity to capture one of Montenegro’s hallmarks from a bird’s-eye view! Not many can boast of this!

  • Grand Tour: Sedlo Pass

Now we’ll drive along the most beautiful road in the Balkans. If we’re lucky, we’ll see a sea of clouds at the foot of the mountain pass.

Sedlo Pass Durmitor

This mountain range got its name because its shape strongly resembles a saddle. It’s as majestic as the Tara River Canyon! A convertible ride through the pass creates an amazing sense of presence and unity with the nature of this place!

On the other side of the pass, another unforgettable panorama awaits us. From the southern slope of the Durmitor mountains, a truly astonishing view of Piva Lake opens up. A picture painted by nature itself appears before you in all its glory! You just want to admire it without thinking about anything, because in such moments, your heart stops in awe! You’ll fly from one bank to the other and back! It’s incredibly cool, but most tourists don’t even know about it!
