As fun as group excursions can be, the natural beauty of Montenegro is best experienced on private tours. That’s why we’ve designed the perfect Montenegro Canyons tour by convertible just for you! Nothing obstructs your view or distracts your attention. Get the full immersion effect! You can truly enjoy the beautiful scenery! It’s a great opportunity to be alone with Montenegrin nature and truly feel the precious moments of your journey.
Montenegro Canyons: Tour Start
We have a long journey ahead, as the route includes many of Montenegro’s most beautiful spots. We’ll wake up early, pick you up from your hotel, and begin our drive along the coast to catch the magical moments of sunrise. It illuminates Sveti Stefan island so colorfully with its soft rays!

We’ll make a short stop at a convenient spot so you can take some stunning photos against the backdrop of the small, picturesque island-castle.
Montenegro Canyons: Skadar Lake
The first stop on our ‘Montenegro Canyons’ sightseeing tour will be Skadar Lake National Park. Its area is so vast that the opposite shore disappears somewhere far beyond the horizon, and the lake itself spans two countries – Montenegro and Albania. No wonder Skadar Lake is recognized as the largest in the Balkans!

Dense thickets of water lilies cover the lake’s surface, reflecting ancient fortresses and charming villages that have preserved their original appearance. Locals have long been engaged not only in fishing but also in producing delicious homemade wine. We’ll definitely taste it at one of the local restaurants.
Montenegro Canyons: Niagara Waterfall
We won’t linger long in the city streets, as stunning natural beauties await us. Plus, it’s time for breakfast. We’ve planned a special breakfast with a view of the local Niagara Waterfall! It truly resembles its world-famous American namesake! Lush, noisy streams of the Cijevna River majestically cascade into the canyon. This is the first unexpected surprise your Montenegro Canyons tour has prepared for you!

We can calmly enjoy all this beauty at the tables of the ‘Niagara’ restaurant, located right on the riverbank. Delicious food, a warm atmosphere, and a charming rustic interior will surely leave you with the most pleasant memories.

Montenegro Canyons: Moraca Canyon
Well, after a hearty breakfast, we can head to Moraca Canyon! The Montenegro Canyons tour cannot bypass it. It’s simply an amazing place where sheer stone walls, up to 1000 meters high, reach for the sky, and a swift mountain river shimmers with turquoise-emerald hues at the bottom of the gorge.

Keep your cameras and phone cameras ready, because the road through Moraca Gorge, along with the Road of Kings and Sedlo Pass, is among the three most beautiful roads in Montenegro. Although we will stop at special viewpoints during the drive through the canyon, you’ll constantly catch stunning landscapes from the car – you’ll want to capture almost every kilometer of the journey.

A walk across the suspension bridge will give you special impressions. It’s a bit scary to walk on the swaying structure, but it’s wonderful to watch the Moraca River flow beneath your feet. Sparkling in the sun, it captivates with its amazing water color!

Montenegro Canyons: Moraca Monastery
Amidst the rugged cliffs and wild natural beauty of Moraca Gorge lies a male monastery of the same name. Although the monastic abode is over eight centuries old, it looks extraordinarily neat and tidy. The monks carefully tend to the monastery grounds and reverently preserve the temple’s interior. Thanks to their efforts, you can admire 13th-century frescoes and see a handwritten Gospel.

A pleasant addition to getting acquainted with Moraca Monastery will be a tasting of excellent honey from the monastery apiary. Don’t forget to buy these products as gifts for loved ones and friends, as they are imbued with the energy of sacred places!

Montenegro Canyons: Tara Canyon and Djurdjevica Bridge
Immediately after visiting the monastery, we will head to the next popular attraction – Djurdjevica Bridge, located in Tara Canyon. The elegant bridge, consisting of five arches, stretches from one side of the gorge to the other at a height of up to 172 meters. It blends harmoniously with the surrounding nature and just begs to be photographed!

Tara Canyon is considered the deepest canyon in Europe and ranks second in the world in depth after the famous Grand Canyon in the USA. Although it looks somewhat different from the Grand Canyon, its natural beauty is no less breathtaking. Ancient pines, mountains densely covered with green forests, and the clearest water of the Tara River make an indelible impression.

Thrill-seekers can try zip-lining – an exciting descent on a cable across the entire canyon! You’ll get maximum emotions!

Montenegro Canyons: Zabljak and Savin Kuk Peak
After taking plenty of photos against the backdrop of the canyons, we’ll drive to Zabljak – Montenegro’s ski resort and the highest town in the Balkans! Zabljak’s center is located at an altitude of 1456 meters above sea level. Next to the town is the Durmitor mountain range and national park, which includes 48 peaks over two kilometers high and 18 glacial mountain lakes. The Zabljak resort is very popular with skiers. We won’t be skiing, but we’ll use the lift to ascend to the top of Savin Kuk mountain. This is another argument for why our Montenegro Canyons tour by convertible is the best sightseeing program. A stunning panorama of Black Lake opens up from the summit.

Montenegro Canyons: Black Lake
From above, the lake, hidden among the green forests, appears blue. However, once you descend to it, you’ll understand why it was named ‘Black.’ When you stand on the shore on a clear day, the surrounding coniferous trees reflect in the water, giving it a dark hue.

The water in the lake is clear but cool even in summer, so it’s best not to swim in it. But having lunch on the shore, surrounded by wild nature – that’s perfect! After resting and refreshing ourselves on the shore of Black Lake, we’ll head to the final point of our Montenegro Canyons tour route.

Montenegro Canyons: Komarnica Canyon
The picturesque Komarnica Canyon deserves a visit alongside Montenegro’s most popular canyons. Komarnica hosts Montenegro’s most thrilling active adventure – canyoning! Not everyone can complete it, although the gorge is less than 5 km long. You’ll discover why this canyon is called Nevidbog. We won’t descend into the canyon, but only look at it from above. This place will be a worthy final chord of our Montenegro Canyons tour. It will perfectly complement your collection of impressions from our country’s stunning nature.

A private tour of Montenegro’s Canyons will surely leave you with a wealth of pleasant memories for a lifetime!
