Mini Montenegro: Panoramas of the Royal Road
Many more breathtaking panoramas await us, as our journey continues into the mountains along the Road of Kings. In ancient times, Kotor’s rulers traveled this mountain serpentine to Petar Njegoš’s palace for receptions. We owe them great gratitude for paving the way, as the views from the serpentine are truly royal! The Bay of Kotor fjord appears in all its majestic beauty from this height. You won’t see such a spectacle anywhere else in Montenegro!

Mini Montenegro: Gorazda Fort
Gorazda Fort is a 19th-century Austro-Hungarian fortress built to protect Kotor. It has survived almost unchanged and still impresses with its massive walls, moats, and a rare rotating armored dome. During World War I, heavy artillery was stationed here, firing at positions on Mount Lovćen. Today, the fortress is abandoned but accessible to visitors. From its walls, breathtaking views of Kotor Bay and Tivat open up. It’s an excellent place to feel the breath of history away from the tourist hustle.

Mini Montenegro: Mount Lovćen and National Park
Next, our route leads to the famous Mount Lovćen, to the peak of Jezerski Vrh (1657 m). Here, at cloud level, the mausoleum of the great poet and bishop Petar Njegoš was built. And not without reason. The proud ruler wished to be buried on the summit of Mount Lovćen. He desired to admire the beauty of Montenegro, dear to his heart, even after death. Interestingly, even during his lifetime, locals built a chapel on this spot. Later, it was replaced by the mausoleum.

-
Quad Biking (optional)
To diversify the route and see previously unexplored parts of Lovćen Park, you can add quad biking to the Mini Montenegro tour program. The route passes through dense deciduous forests, high mountain passes, and spacious rocky plateaus. Additionally, we’ll make several stops for a short photo session on one of Lovćen Park’s peaks, offering magnificent panoramic views of Tivat Bay. The trail difficulty level is for beginners. So, you’ll easily manage, even if you’ve never ridden a quad bike. Duration: one and a half hours. Cost: 120 euros per quad bike.

-
Tobogganing (optional)
Another optional activity to diversify the classic route. On the southern slope of the Lovćen National Park mountain range, there’s a cable car and a toboggan run. Tobogganing is a ride in a controlled cart on rails laid along the mountain slope. You can adjust your speed. The cart can always be slowed down to a minimum to take a photo or video of the beautiful panorama of the Bay of Kotor. It’s a super attraction, doesn’t take much time, and costs only 6 euros per person.

-
Mini Montenegro: Njeguši
Deep in the mountains lies the village of Njeguši, where we’ll taste the most delicious homemade prosciutto and cheeses in Montenegro. Why is this particular place the birthplace of Montenegrin meat? Because nature itself has created ideal conditions for making prosciutto here – a cool climate where mountain air mixes with sea air. This is what makes it special!

You’ll not only taste local delicacies but also see how Njeguši prosciutto is made. It takes almost a whole year to achieve the best quality prosciutto!

-
Mini Montenegro: Cetinje
Our Mini Montenegro program includes a visit to the famous city of Cetinje, also known as the museum city. It boasts a large number of attractions that will primarily interest religious people. These include the ancient Vlach Church, the city’s symbol – Cetinje Monastery, and the Church of the Nativity of the Theotokos on Ćipur.

Additionally, this city has preserved many important historical buildings such as King Nikola’s Palace, the Blue Palace (the active residence of the President of Montenegro), Biljarda Palace, art galleries, and much more. You’ll immerse yourself in Montenegro’s cultural past and present.

Our short journey will introduce you to the unique atmosphere of Montenegro’s mountainous coast. You’ll learn more about the Montenegrin mentality, culture, and traditions of the mountain region. Book the Mini Montenegro tour and get the most out of your experience!
