Tours in Montenegro 2025: Grand Canyon Tour
This is an extended route for the Montenegro canyons tour. We’ve added many great stops with beautiful panoramic views to the program. Now, it can truly be called the perfect sightseeing tour of the country. Essentially, it’s all of Montenegro in one day. Circling Montenegro, we will show you as many as 5 canyons, 5 lakes, 3 national parks, fantastic rocky passes, and drive through a flower-strewn mountain plateau. To say this tour is mega-packed is, literally, an understatement!
♦ Panorama above Sveti Stefan Island
It is also called the panorama of lovers. The amazing view of the Adriatic coast in the rays of the rising morning sun will create a wonderful mood for the whole day!
♦ Gluhi Do Pass and Skadar Lake Panorama
Another fantastic landscape, but from the other side of the mountain. Skadar Lake, shrouded in morning mist, will appear before you in all its glory. It is so vast that even from here, at an altitude of 800 meters, it will not be easy to discern the opposite shore, which is in Albania.
♦ Cijevna River Canyon and Niagara Waterfall
The clear emerald river flows through the endless vineyards of the Zeta Valley. An artificial dam blocked the river canyon, creating the Niagara Waterfall. Here you can have breakfast at the restaurant of the same name and, if you wish, swim in the perfectly clean water. And photos against the backdrop of the waterfall will stay with you forever!

♦ Morača River Canyon
Imagine a canyon whose sheer walls reach a kilometer in depth, with an azure mountain river flowing at its bottom. This is exactly the landscape that appears before your eyes when you enter the Morača River Canyon. The road runs right along the riverbank. There are often pockets where you can park for photo stops. We will make several scenic stops. If desired, you can even cross the canyon via a suspension bridge, just like in an Indiana Jones movie!
♦ Biogradsko Lake
Biogradsko Lake is nestled in the heart of Biogradska Gora National Park, hidden under the canopy of relict trees. You can take a walk along the fabulous forest path around the lake. The path will lead us through real Balkan jungles: huge fern leaves, entangled with unusual types of ivy, grow among giant trees and enormous stone boulders. When you walk around the lake, it feels like you’ve entered a land of giants. You can also swim on the lake in a wooden boat. Imagine: pleasant warm air caresses your skin, a light breeze rustles in the treetops, the sun plays reflections on the smooth surface of the lake, and only the measured splash of water under the oars breaks the silence reigning in this protected place!

♦ Tara River Canyon
To use a common phrase, it’s one of the hallmarks of Montenegro tours. The deepest canyon in Europe. At its highest points, its walls reach 1300 meters. Part of our route will pass right along the canyon bed. Along the way, several stops will be made both on the riverbank and on high cliffs, offering views of the valley and the Tara River bed.
♦ Đurđevića Bridge and Zipline Flight
The bridge over the Tara River Canyon is truly a marvel of engineering. Its design is truly unique. The bridge is anchored only on one side, and on the other, it simply rests against the canyon wall, effectively pressing on it with its weight. Thus, the entire structure is firmly integrated into the natural landscape of the gorge. Along the bridge, from one side of the canyon to the other, zipline cables are stretched, allowing you to fly to the opposite bank of the gorge!

♦ Black Lake and Durmitor National Park
This crystal-clear glacial lake is located in the very center of Durmitor National Park. It is surrounded by a dense forest of Balkan black spruces. Directly above the lake rise the majestic mountain peaks of Savin Kuk and Medjed – two of Montenegro’s highest points. In the first half of the day, they cast a shadow that covers the entire surface of the reservoir. Because of this shadow, the water’s color in the lake takes on a rich dark blue hue, hence the name Black Lake. As soon as the first sun rays fall on the water’s surface, its color immediately changes to azure-green. The lake can be circled along the forest path that encircles it.
♦ Sedlo Pass and Sušica Canyon
Now, the magnificent Durmitor mountain ranges await us. The road through Durmitor National Park and Sedlo Pass is, without exaggeration, the most beautiful road in Montenegro. It calmly winds through flowery mountain plateaus, then gently descends into gorge valleys, then climbs up to mountain passes. From here, an incredible panoramic view of the Sušica River Canyon opens up. It’s hard to believe that this gorge was created by one small mountain river, which for hundreds of thousands of years, stubbornly carves its way from the Durmitor mountains into the valley each year. It seems as if a giant excavator dug a trench in the solid rock of inaccessible cliffs. The spectacle is truly powerful and mesmerizing!
♦ Piva Lake and Piva Canyon
Having passed the mountain pass and alpine meadows, strewn with a palette of wildflowers, we will find ourselves on the road leading down to Piva Lake. This is another one of Montenegro’s top panoramic roads, which in itself is an attraction of the country. The feeling is that you have seen something incredible. Emerald-colored water evenly fills all the free space in the gorges and canyons of the mountain range. The lake was created artificially. To create it, the Piva River canyon was blocked by a dam 240 meters high. In my opinion, Piva Lake and Piva Canyon are the most beautiful places in Montenegro.

♦ Salt Lake and Risan Bay Panorama
On the way home, we will make a few more scenic stops. First, we will stop for a photo break above Salt Lake. The lake is especially beautiful in the early morning and at sunset. In fact, it is a former salt mine, flooded with water. The lake is completely dead. It seems to try to confirm this itself. When you look at it, it feels like the water in it has frozen. Driving a little further, we will find ourselves directly above the coast of Risan Bay in the Bay of Kotor. Here you will have the opportunity to take stunning panoramic photos of the bay in the rays of the setting sun. From here, we will head home.
The Grand Canyon Tour is the most popular tour in Montenegro. A great opportunity to see the maximum in one day!
Tours in Montenegro 2025: Bay of Kotor
Another program from the list of the most popular tours in Montenegro. For the 2023 season, we have made several interesting additions to the route. Since the Savina winery is not expected to be as busy this year, we decided to take advantage of the moment and add it to the itinerary. Until last year, it was quite difficult to adjust to their schedule, as the winery constantly hosted various presentations for delegations of winemakers from different countries. We also added a visit to the Španjola Fortress in Herceg Novi. The updated route for the Bay of Kotor tour for the 2023 season is as follows:

♦ Old Town Kotor
This place needs no description, as everyone who has flown to Montenegro has already read a lot about it. Without exaggeration, it can be said that it is a true open-air museum city. Every building in it is essentially an attraction. You can read more about Kotor in the article written by our guides. On the tour, we will lead you through the narrow, winding streets of old Kotor, most of which are hidden from tourists’ eyes, and reveal all the amazing secrets that this mysterious city silently holds.
♦ Arza Fortress and Mirišta Beach
A drive in a panoramic roof car along the picturesque road through the Luštica peninsula is a pleasant pastime in itself. The hilly coastal area is very different from anything else you can see in Montenegro. Construction of a magnificent city of the future will soon begin here, so the 2025 season is the last chance to see the pristine beauty of this reserve! After driving through Luštica, we will arrive at Mirišta Beach, which is almost at the exit to the open sea. When you look at the perfectly clear water, it’s simply impossible to resist the desire to swim in it. And not far from the beach is the small Arza Fort. In the past, this fortification served as an auxiliary embrasure for Mamula Fortress and performed a guard function, preventing enemy ships from entering the bay. The fort is locked, but no one forbids taking photos.
♦ Mamula Fortress and Blue Cave
The Blue Cave is the second most popular tour destination in Montenegro after Black Lake. At the pier of Žanjice beach, we will transfer to a small boat and head there. Along the way, we will make a short stop near Mamula Fortress. This year, it will not be possible to go ashore because construction is in full swing – the fortress is being converted into a hotel. But for now, it can still be seen in its pristine, historically accurate form. And when we enter the Blue Cave, you will be truly delighted. Last year, we were often the only boat in the entire cave. And, I am sure that this year we will be just as lucky. Imagine, a real natural pool with the purest warm water completely at your disposal! You can dive into the water, shout, freely take photos without strangers in the frame. Such an opportunity is truly priceless!
♦ Herceg Novi
After crossing the bay by ferry, we will head to the city of a thousand stairs and a million flowers – Herceg Novi. We will, of course, definitely visit the Kanli Kula and Forte Mare fortresses, the central city square – Bellavista Square, and the clock tower. You can read more about the city’s attractions in our article and choose what else you would like to see in this city rich in interesting places.
♦ Španjola Fortress
The Španjola Fortress is technically one of Herceg Novi’s attractions. However, it is located on a hill above the city. You definitely need to drive up there, so I’ve highlighted it as a separate attraction. The mysterious fortress on top of a green hill looks very inviting. From above, there’s a simply magnificent view of the Adriatic. The fortress is a perfect square with round embrasures at each of its corners. Each embrasure is an amazing photo spot. In short, the place is fantastic!
♦ Savina Winery
For all wine lovers, this winery is a must-visit. Throughout its existence, Savina wines have collected an incredibly large number of various international awards. The combination of long-standing traditions and advanced winemaking technologies makes Savina wines absolutely the best in Montenegro. Moreover, it’s interesting and pleasant to walk around the winery grounds! During the tour of the production area, you will learn many interesting things about winemaking. A walk through the green labyrinths of grapes will invigorate you. And from the terrace, a majestic view opens up, just begging to be photographed!

♦ Oyster Farm
Adriatic oysters will be an excellent complement to wine. There are quite a few oyster farms in the Bay of Kotor. We will visit one of them. The farm’s products can be tasted right on the seashore, in a comfortable gazebo. Be sure to open a bottle of white wine from the winery for this occasion.
♦ Perast and Our Lady of the Rocks Island
The town of Perast represents a classic old-European promenade with a slight touch of Balkan ambiance. Like Kotor, it is a major attraction in itself. We will walk along the promenade and tell you in detail about all the interesting places. After that, we will take a boat and go to the island of Our Lady of the Rocks. The church on the island is another hallmark of Montenegro tours. Unlike a typical summer, this year there will be no crowds of tourists. Everything can be seen well and great pictures can be taken. I would say this is a unique opportunity. And for couples in love, of course, it is necessary to take a small stone from the mainland and leave it in the foundation masonry of the island. This sweet tradition has existed since the laying of the first stone.
The Bay of Kotor is the main historical tour of Montenegro. Many man-made attractions hold secrets that simply cannot be left undiscovered. The ideal balance between nature, architecture, and sea views makes it, perhaps, the best program of the 2025 season.
Tours in Montenegro 2025: Grand Royal Tour
This is our exclusive and unique tour program! In my opinion, it’s the jewel among all Montenegro tours. We took the classic Mini Montenegro program as a base and significantly expanded its route. We will follow the same path that medieval kings took on their diplomatic visits. Essentially, in one day, we will show you absolutely everything our country is famous for: mountain landscapes, sea views, traditional villages, historic towns, Orthodox shrines, clean rivers, magical lakes, Montenegrin delicacies, and delicious wines! Literally everything that comes to mind when you hear the word Montenegro is included in this amazing tour.

♦ Rijeka Crnojevića and Skadar Lake
First, we will go to Skadar Lake, making a short stop in the town of Virpazar. Here you can buy cool endemic souvenirs that you won’t find on the coast. In the past, this was the summer residence of the king of the Zeta state. From here, we begin our royal journey! We turn onto one of Montenegro’s most beautiful panoramic roads. The serpentine road winds through the hills, periodically opening up magnificent views of Skadar Lake and the Rijeka Crnojevića. Long ago, King Petar Njegoš made business trips to Virpazar along this road. In the town of Rijeka Crnojevića, he often stopped to rest at his residence. Here is one of Montenegro’s most famous panoramic views (link) – the view of the bend of the Rijeka Crnojevića. It can be found on all advertising posters for group tours to Skadar Lake. Unfortunately, the routes of programs on large buses do not actually include visiting this place. We will make several stops for photo breaks. Optionally, you can take a boat trip along the river and Skadar Lake. In May and June, there are good chances to see Dalmatian pelicans!
♦ Bogojević Winery
While resting at his residence in Rijeka Crnojevića, Petar Njegoš loved to drink red Vranac wine, grown in the plantations of the Zeta Valley. So, we’ll visit the Bogojević family’s wine gallery for a tasting. Incredibly, the Bogojević family’s winemaking traditions span several centuries. Their secrets are carefully passed down through generations, constantly improving. The Bogojević gallery itself is a very interesting art object. A visit to such a gallery will be interesting whether you love wine or not. And, of course, you’ll be able to taste each of the wines.

♦ Cetinje City
On one hand, Cetinje is the cultural capital of Montenegro. On the other hand, it strangely doesn’t enjoy the popularity it deserves. Most likely, it’s because it’s not by the sea. The city is really very interesting. You can read about all the attractions in our article. Of course, we will definitely visit the most important ones. Cetinje Monastery, Njegoš Street, the Money Museum, Biljarda Palace, and much more. In short, there’s plenty to choose from.
♦ Njeguši Village
If Cetinje is the center of Montenegrin culture, then Njeguši is the spirit of Montenegrin traditions. This quiet village is nestled in a green valley surrounded by the mountains of Lovćen National Park. Njeguši village is a true embodiment of hospitality. Kind-hearted locals, relaxing on the verandas of their homes, are always happy to offer travelers rakija or honey liqueur. Owners of traditional konobas invite you to taste their dishes. But the main highlight of Njeguši is the famous Njeguši prosciutto. Literally everyone here is involved in making ham; every family has its own smokehouse. Each family also has its own secret recipe for making prosciutto. We will visit one such smokehouse for a tasting of local delicacies.

♦ Mount Lovćen and Petar Njegoš Mausoleum
After a meal, we will head to the top of Mount Lovćen. This is also part of the great royal road. The mountain peak was the favorite place of Montenegro’s first king and poet, Petar Njegoš. He spent most of his life here, and it was here that his best works were written. He himself bequeathed to be buried here. This place is amazing in every way! Firstly, for locals, Petar Njegoš’s mausoleum is the main attraction of Montenegro. Secondly, from the panoramic platform, a magnificent view of the stone sea – the mountain range of Lovćen National Park – opens up. If the air humidity is high and the air is warm enough on the day of the excursion, then white cumulus clouds will lie right at your feet!
♦ Road of Kings
The most famous and probably the most beautiful panoramic road in the country! An incredible serpentine road that leads from Njeguši village to Kotor. By the way, on the eighteenth turn of this road, the hosts of the show ‘Orel i Reshka Montenegro’ hid a treasure with money. The money has long been found, but we will definitely stop to photograph the unsurpassed panoramic view of the Bay of Kotor and Tivat!
The Royal Tour is a combination of two classic excursions: Mini Montenegro and Skadar Lake. Essentially, in one day, you will see Montenegro in all its possible manifestations: mountain peaks, sea landscapes, lakes in valleys, traditional villages, old towns, exquisite wines, and traditional delicacies!
Tours in Montenegro 2025
: Montenegro Wine Tour
Montenegro is famous not only for its sea, sun, and mountains, but also, of course, for its magnificent wines. Our wine tour became an expected hit among all Montenegro tours last year. And, of course, local wines are also a kind of calling card of the country! The traditions of local winemaking go back to ancient times – the era of the Zeta state. It was located around Skadar Lake in the valley of the same name. Nowadays, any more or less flat area is used for vineyards. And the locals are, in a good way, obsessed with winemaking. There is an incredible variety of grape sorts, and consequently, types of wine. To introduce you to the entire wine palette of Montenegro, we have developed this program. In one day, we will visit several original wineries and will taste, taste, and taste many different delicious wines!

♦ Klisić Family Winery
Let’s start with the hospitable family winery of Ilija Klisić. The owner of the winery is, no less, the president of the Montenegrin Winemakers Association. His winery is located in the village of Gluhi Do (Silent Valley) near Skadar Lake. Despite his status, Ilija is famous for his hospitality. He always conducts the production tour himself. He talks about wine production with such enthusiasm that no one doubts his dedication to his craft. Wine tasting takes place on the summer terrace overlooking the picturesque green valley. Ilija always participates in the tasting himself, describing each variety in detail. In general, it’s more like heartfelt gatherings during which he loves to tell captivating stories. And a great conversation is the best way to set the mood for the whole day! And you will certainly have no doubt that Klisić Winery produces the best homemade wine in Montenegro!
♦ Bogojević Family Wine Gallery
After the homey atmosphere at Klisić Winery, we will find ourselves at a reception in a real wine gallery! Despite the formal setting, there is also room for fun here. And the tasting is, in essence, a true wine performance. Bogojević Winery is famous throughout Montenegro for its elite varieties. Unlike most local winemakers, their wines cannot be bought in stores. You can only taste them in expensive restaurants or directly from the producer. In addition, the Bogojević family makes gourmet black prosciutto, the recipe for which is kept in strict secrecy. You can try it during the wine tasting!

♦ Lipovac Winery
Now we head to the professional Lipovac Winery. The winery is located in the mountains at an altitude of 600 meters above sea level. From the vineyards and tasting terraces, magnificent views of the Zeta Valley open up. The winery’s production occupies two large buildings. The winery’s production represents a harmonious symbiosis of ancient traditions and advanced technologies. It will be especially interesting to learn how wine is aged. There is room for everything here: dusty bottles in shelf cells, oak barrels, ceramic amphorae. And the tasting will delight even sophisticated wine lovers! On the tasting terrace, there is a roštilj where we can grill meat for dinner. After all, what could be better to end the day than a good dinner with a glass of your favorite wine!
For the Montenegro Wine Tour, we have specially selected the best wineries whose wines are not sold in stores. All products from these wineries go only to expensive restaurants and hotels. Other wineries can be added to the tour at your request. We can also visit the Plantaže factory. Write to us in the chat on the website and book your Montenegro winery tour!
Tours in Montenegro 2025: Bosnia and Herzegovina
In my personal ranking of Montenegro tours, a trip to Bosnia takes first place. It’s an ideal program, equally rich in both natural beauty and man-made attractions. This sightseeing tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina will introduce you not only to the Serbian part of the country. We will also visit the Turkish side. And we will even visit the conditional border between Herzegovina and Bosnia. The tour is extremely rich. In one day, we will see: the cities of Trebinje and Mostar, the magnificent mountain river Neretva and the Blagaj spring, the mighty and majestic Kravice waterfall, Vjetrenica cave, and taste perfect monastery wine made by monks in Tvrdoš. An ideal tour, an amazing route!

♦ Trebinje City
The first stop will be the small, quiet town of Trebinje, located in a valley on the banks of the Trebišnjica River. It is such a peaceful and calm place that sometimes it feels like time has simply stopped here. We will walk through the old town and stop for breakfast in the Square of Great Plane Trees. The aromas of Bosnian coffee will create an excellent mood for the whole day.
♦ Tvrdoš Monastery-Winery
The traditions of monastic winemaking date back to ancient times. Monastery wines have always differed from classic varieties not only in texture and taste. There is something mysterious, barely perceptible, in them that cannot be described in words. Tvrdoš Winery, throughout its long history, has received many awards. Among them are a gold medal from the European Winemakers Association in 2014 and a silver medal in 2015. First, we will visit the production, and then proceed to the tasting cellar, where you can try all the wines you want!
♦ Vjetrenica Cave
After driving through endless vineyards, we will arrive at the entrance to a huge cave. The cave is a through-cave, with a powerful gusty wind blowing inside. Hence its name. The cave from the inside looks like something completely unreal! As if you’ve landed on another planet. Huge stalactites hang from the ceiling. Stalagmites grow everywhere, like whimsical stone flowers. Stalagnates support the ceiling like gigantic palace columns. A truly unforgettable sight!

♦ Kravice Waterfall
The culmination of the trip will be a visit to Kravice Waterfall. It can, without exaggeration, be called one of the most beautiful places on the planet! That is why the waterfall is a very popular location for filming music videos and movies. Kravice Waterfall looks truly majestic. The roaring streams of water can be heard for several kilometers. Cascading from the mountain ranges, they form an azure lake at the foot. By taking a boat or kayak, you can cross the lake and swim to the waterfall. The water is quite invigorating, but swimming is still great. Kravice Waterfall is definitely a must-see for everyone!
♦ Blagaj Spring
Another amazing, heavenly place that few people know about. The riverbed carved its way through the rock, forming an azure backwater right at the foot of a steep cliff. Just 50 years ago, there was only one building on the bank of the Blagaj backwater – a Dervish monastery. Over time, charming houses with apartments and cozy family restaurants began to appear here. Thus, Blagaj turned into a tourist attraction that every guest of Bosnia and Herzegovina must see.
♦ Mostar Old Town
Bosnia and Herzegovina is essentially divided into two completely different parts. And they differ literally in everything: mentality, culture, religion, cuisine, and even fashion. But, still, there are a few places where these two worlds blend into one. Mostar is one such place! The Neretva River divides the city into two halves. Once, it literally was the border between two different, irreconcilable cultures. But over time, the cultural animosity ended, and both worlds mixed, creating something new. And the famous Mostar Bridge can rightfully be considered a symbol of friendship and peace!
In Mostar, we will have dinner with a view of the bridge over the Neretva, after which we will head home. The tour is, of course, quite long, but in this case, that’s only a plus. This day will be so rich in interesting events that you simply won’t want it to end!
