  • Jeep Tour: Start of the Excursion

Don’t forget to bring warm clothes, as it can be chilly in the mountains! We’ll set off early in the morning, and our route will take us along Montenegro’s Adriatic coast and the shores of Lake Skadar. Along the way, you’ll appreciate its scale and beauty.

Montenegro Canyons Tour

  • Jeep Tour: Moraca River Canyon

After passing Podgorica, we’ll enter the Moraca River Canyon. You’ll see sheer cliffs soaring skyward and the turquoise stream rushing between them. This is where the “Little Switzerland Montenegro” program begins! Just imagine: a narrow road with sharp turns and monolithic stone walls up to 1000 meters high. Above you, only a narrow strip of sky, and you could almost touch the opposite bank of the river! We’ll definitely stop to capture this magnificence in photos.

  • Jeep Tour: Kolasin Ski Resort

Next, we’ll head straight to the Montenegrin ski town of Kolasin. It’s located at an altitude of 1450 m above sea level. Here you’ll find the popular ski resort “Bjelasica-Jezera” with two slopes and five lifts. Now, we’ll switch to rugged jeeps and head high into the mountains to conquer Montenegro’s Little Switzerland. We’ll drive along winding dirt roads that passenger cars simply can’t handle.

  • Jeep Tour: Bjelasica Mountain

Our main destination is Bjelasica Mountain, rightly considered one of Europe’s most beautiful protected areas. This mountain plateau is located at an altitude of 1770 meters above sea level! Here you’ll see traditional “katuns” – small wooden houses where local shepherds live in summer. We’ll visit a real “savardak” – the Montenegrin version of a yurt. You’ll see how people live in the mountains of Montenegro, and get acquainted with their traditions and way of life.

Bjelasica is a colorful place with the purest mountain air! It offers a magnificent panorama! Here, a Montenegrin breakfast awaits us with local delicacies: pršut, fragrant homemade pies with cabbage and cheese, pancakes with honey, and herbal tea. Breakfast with a view of three countries at once!? Sounds amazing!

Here begins our horseback ride across the mountain plateau and alpine meadows – the true Little Switzerland of Montenegro! Along the way, you’ll see Lake Pešića, nestled in a basin between the highest peaks of the national park – Crna Glava 2137 m, Zekova Glava 2116 m, Belila 2059 m. You’ll also see Lake Ursulovačko. It’s hidden at an altitude of 1897 meters above sea level and is considered one of the most inaccessible places in the country. Next, we’ll ascend to the highest point of the Bjelasica ridge – Mount Crna Glava – to admire the magnificent panorama from its summit. Few tourists ever reach these secret, protected places.

  • Jeep Tour: Biogradsko Lake

During our journey, you’ll also see a large blue glacial lake – Biogradsko Lake. Surrounded by dense green forests, it lies in an intermountain basin of Bjelasica Mountain. The water in the lake is pristine, fish are abundant, and the protected forest is home to many different wild animals: deer, foxes, wolves, wild boars, bears, and other creatures.

Back in the jeeps, we’ll descend from the mountains to Biogradsko Lake and also see the river of the same name flowing into the lake. Its length is 8 km, and this emerald river originates at the top of Bjelasica Mountain.

We’ll cap off the vivid impressions of the tour with a delicious lunch at the authentic Savardak restaurant. Traditional Biogradska chorba, pršut, kajmak, Skadar carp, and Kolasin-style veal will be appreciated even by the most discerning gourmets. After lunch, we’ll head back to the coast – you’ll be at your hotel around 8 PM. The “Little Switzerland Montenegro” tour with horseback riding through alpine meadows high in the mountains will surely leave you with the most pleasant memories!
