We&#8217;ll start with the main and largest mosque in Bosnia and Herzegovina &#8211; the Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque. It was named <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in honor of the successor to the Sultan of the Bosnian Sanjak. Although its exterior is quite modest and simple, inside it is richly decorated with paintings, stone carvings, and mosaics. It is believed that the fence was a mandatory condition for its existence during Ottoman times. Local authorities allowed the church to live its own life but insisted on building a fence so it wouldn&#8217;t attract attention.
