The famous poet, diplomat, and philanthropist Jovan Du\u010di\u0107 (1871-1943) was born here. He loved his country very much, investing a lot of money in the development of his hometown. A street and a park are named after Du\u010di\u0107, and a monument has been erected. You can see his portrait on the national currency (50 marks). No tour to Bosnia is complete without visiting it. This is Tvrdo\u0161 Monastery. Some sources date its construction to the 4th century AD, others to the 13th-14th centuries. In any case, the history of the monastery is very ancient. Here, Vasilije Ostro\u0161ki, the most revered saint in Serbian Orthodoxy, took his monastic vows.     <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-9719 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/mymontenegro.club\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/%D0%91%D0%BE%D1%81%D0%BD%D0%B8%D1%8F-%D0%A2%D1%80%D0%B5%D0%B1%D0%B8%D0%BD%D1%8C%D0%B5003.jpg\" alt=\"Bosnia and Herzegovina Tour\" width=\"2394\" height=\"1593\"\/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Besides relics, the monastery is famous for its vineyards. You&#8217;ll have the opportunity to taste vintage Vranac wine from oak barrels. We recommend purchasing wines from 2012 and 2014. The cave reaches a depth of 7 km, but only 400 m are equipped for tourists. Descending into the cave feels like stepping onto another planet. The majestic cave halls resemble the underground king&#8217;s domain from The Lord of the Rings. Whimsically shaped stalactites hang from the ceilings, and stalagmites reach up to meet them.
